Major Events International

Major Events International (MEI) provides international business services and market penetration for companies who want to take advantage of Olympic and World Cup opportunities and win more business in major events. Throughout the year the company hosts a number of events, centred around an overarching theme, bringing together numerous business leaders to talk about the various different sectors. On the 20th and 21st of November, MEI held the Sports and Venues Summit at the old Olympic Stadium in London, now home to West Ham United.

The Sports and Venues Summit was a great opportunity for Giggabox to showcase the vast quantity of high-quality Audio-Visual equipment that we have to offer and take Major Events International’s event production to the next level. The setting up of the stage, speakers and lighting were all rigged the evening before, ensuring that everything was ready for the event start at 9am. Having previously had very minimal stage, a single tv monitor and a banner, MEI were blown away to now have a full stage area, capable of seating up to 6 panellists and a speaker, a 9-foot projector screen and accompanying light show. Throughout the day we had an event technician on the stand.

The day before the event Giggabox went into London Stadium, formerly home to the London 2012 Olympics. We started by rigging the backdrop, stage, and all the AV equipment ready for 9am the next day. This allowed for checks to be completed the night before, to eliminate any potential faults on the day. On the day of the Sports & Venues Summit, Giggabox had a dedicated Events technician operating and monitoring the sound, lighting, power point and video content between each of the various speakers. Adjusting the surrounding sound, lighting levels and getting each of the speakers mic’d up was also required. After the event, the breakdown of the event production equipment was loaded out quickly that same night.
