On Wednesday 26th of February, the Giggabox team attended the Event Production Show at the ExCel in London. As we offer our clients live streaming and event production services, the show provided a great opportunity to meet potential clients and suppliers.
The Event Production Show had a lot to offer in terms of selection of event services, ranging from Ice Cream vans, to more traditional event security. There were also 4 giant inflatable elephants dotted around, which certainly created a different feel than the standard expo. Throughout the 2 days there were a series of talks and thought panels calling in on the expertise of prominent members of the events industry. The talks ranged from major concern’s festivals could face in 2020, digital safety solutions and creating the perfect partnership.
Giggabox CEO Paul Musselle took part in one of the thought panels on the MEI stand, alongside Greg Francis from CSM, Jason Henderson from Off to Work and Wyn Fanshawe from Capture The Event. Their discussion focused on event services and the direction that they see the events industry moving towards from their respective fields. Paul mentioned how, with so many companies now on a global scale, there is becoming a commitment to becoming more aware of the environmental impacts of travelling to corporate events and the barriers that can sometimes appear. Live Streaming is a perfect example of a service that can allow people to watch and follow events, without having to travel to another country. It is also beneficial for the host as it allows for promotional content for subsequent events.
One of the highlights for Giggabox however was not at the Event Production Show, but rather the International Confex Event that was happening on the other side of the hall. Confex had a wide variety of venues and it was an opportunity to speak to some of the team at locations we have worked at in the past. Next year the Giggabox team will certainly be visiting both the Event Production Show and the International Confex.
